Introduction
Each year, young singers and their supporters impatiently await the biggest festival in the world – the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Annually, the world’s attention is focused on a new and exciting location where the new edition of the festival will take place — a city somewhere in Europe. The festival is broadcast live in all participant countries which makes it one of the most-watched non-sporting events in the world.
Many young Belarusian stars started their careers from the stage of Euro Junior – among them: Dino Jelusić, Alexey Zhigalkovich, Antonio Jose, Vladislav Krutskikh, Yiorgos Ioannides and many, many more. This year, the contest was held on 20th November in the Belarusian capital, Minsk. We were quite excited about the contest taking place in Belarus as the country also hosts the immense Inte
ational Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” which has also become one of the main events in the East European countries for child performers who are making their way to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Participation in Junior Eurovision Song Contest gives a lot of opportunities for young singers all over the world, they become well-known, more experienced and self-confident, they travel and lea
about different cultures. Moreover, this Contest is one of the greatest opportunities for every country-participant to show their talents in the sphere of music and dance. And for the country-organizer holding the Eurovision is the key to popularity and success, development of tourism and cultural relations. That’s why it is highly important to introduce and analyze this sphere of art, it is really important for the young singer, for the countries and nations.
The aim of this work is to give characteristics of Junior Eurovision Song Contest and to answer the question “Why this contest is so important in our country”.

Conclusion
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is an inte
ational song competition which has been organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) annually since 2003 and is open exclusively to broadcasters that are members of the EBU. It is held in a different European city each year.
The competition has many similarities to the Eurovision Song Contest from which its name is taken. Each participating broadcaster sends an act, the members of which are aged 10 to 15 on the day of the contest, and an original song lasting between 2 minutes 30 seconds and 2 minutes 45 seconds to compete against the other entries. Each entry represents the country served by the participating broadcaster. Viewers from the participating countries are invited to vote for their favourite performances by televote (though a back-up jury may be used if a broadcaster does not screen the contest live or there is a technical failure with the televoting). The overall winner of the contest is the entry that has received the most points after the scores from every country have been collected and totalled.
Despite the Junior Eurovision Song Contest being modelled on the format of the Eurovision Song Contest, there are many distinctive differences that are unique to the children's contest. For instance, while the main vocals must be sung live during the contest, backing vocals may be recorded onto the backing track.
