Introduction

Language is at the centre of human societies; it plays a crucial part in the organisation of social activities, from gove
ment through the workplace to the home. These complex tasks require complex language, and that requires syntax.
Syntax has to do with how words are put together to build phrases, with how phrases are put together to build clauses or bigger phrases, and with how clauses are put together to build sentences. In small and familiar situations, humans could communicate using single words and many gestures, particularly when dealing with other members of the same social grouping (nuclear family, extended family, clan and so on). But complex messages for complex situations or complex ideas require more than just single words; every human language has devices with which its speakers can construct phrases and clauses.
The descriptive analytical method of study was employed, when preparing this report. As this paper undertakes to survey syntactical structure of the English language, the works of such linguists as Rayevska, Ilуsh, Wekker, Haegeman, Miller, Galperin, Krylova, Gordon, Sheleg and others are largely applies. They provide the theoretical and terminological basis and give our study its frame.
The authors lead the readers to a scientific understanding of new assumptions and views of language as system, keeping abreast of the latest findings set forth in the progressive development of grammatical theory by Soviet and foreign scholars in recent times.
Conclusion
In concluding our survey of English syntactic structure, we should emphasise that there remains much to be investigated in the future. To say nothing of the theory of phrases, which is still in its infancy, even those parts of grammar which have been studied for a hundred years or more present a number of unsolved problems where much energy and patient effort will have to be applied. The new methods aiming at a more exact and objective study of language facts should enable scholars to overcome outdated ideas and prejudices, which often constitute a formidable obstacle in the way of fundamental scientific research work, and further a complete and unbiassed view of Mode
English syntactic structure as it presents itself today and as it tends to develop in the foreseeable future.
The authors of the books, used for preparing the report, have considered a number of problems presented by the syntactic structure of English. In doing it they have applied certain methods, developed by mode
linguists, which allow of a more exact analyses and evaluation of language facts and reduce the sphere of subjective opinions incompatible with one another and admitting of no proof.
The importance of syntactic analysis is generally recognised, in the used books we can find a systematic introduction to the methods of English syntactic analysis.
The authors offer an account oа what is considered to be the basic rules and principles of English syntax, they also try to make readers aware of syntactic structures and their relations. The authors give some insight into the general methodology of syntactic description.
